A Great New Adventure for Natasha Romanoff
--
Everyone’s favorite Black Widow is back!
Okay, so Natasha Romanoff has been back for 9 months now, but it’s time to reflect on the adventure so far. Trust me, if you’re a widow fan, you’re not going to want to miss out on Kelly Thompson’s fun spy adventure.
We’ve followed The Black Widow on plenty of adventures over the years. We’ve seen Natasha as the hero and the villain. We’ve watched her die and be cloned. We’ve seen her impersonated. Now it’s time to see her with a …family?
Not talking about that whole family thing that the film did. If you want my opinion on that you can read it here.
I will admit, I had doubts about this run.
Thompson is a superstar in her own right. (If you don’t know Jeff the Land Shark do you even read current comics?) But was she up for the task of bringing us on a spy adventure with Natasha? The answer is a resounding YES.
But it isn’t only Thompson who shines in this run. I have not seen Natasha drawn as well as Elena Casagrande and co has done since Noto’s art. Every page is a splash of color that keeps the reader’s eye while staying true to Natasha.
This run is a pleasure to both read and look at.
Featuring team-ups with Natasha’s beloved group of lovers and adversaries. Thanks to Clint Barton, James Barnes, and Yelena Belova, Natasha is helped out of a tricky situation.
An imaginary playhouse life orchestrated by none other than Arcade is our first arc of the ongoing series. These first 5 issues give us back the classic widow we all adore. With a fun fight and heartfelt moments, our girl pushes through every roadblock.
Beginning with issue 6 we get a taste for the next adventure. It’s time to follow Natasha and Yelena in what they do best, (well, what Natasha does best, Yelena is along for the ride) being heroes.
With the introduction of new characters and mind control, the two widows have a mystery to solve. One that may just prove deadly for Yelena.
We’ll have to see what happens when issue 9 hits stands on Wednesday, July 28th.
If you’re a fan of Black Widow I highly suggest you pick up this comic soon and follow along with the adventure.
