Comedy is absolutely one of the most difficult things to write. As someone who went to school for scriptwriting that was 100% the place where I struggled. I have a dark sense of humor which doesn't always translate well on screen.

I can't say that I know of many comedies that aren't more skewed to the horror comedy range. But if you're looking for someone that's both bitterly funny while being a tad bit scary I'd absolutely suggest Beau Is Afraid.
