Nickelodeon Truths Are Discoloring My Childhood (But Are Also So Important)

In the event that you’ve been living in a box for the past couple of weeks, let’s rehash what’s going on in the world of media. Discovery+ released a documentary called Quiet On Set. This doc is changing the way that many of us look at our childhoods.

For years now it’s been known that there was something dark going on behind the scenes of Nickelodeon. Many stars have come forward to write the narrative.

The skits that we once found funny are so much darker than we thought.

Let’s dive into how Dan Schneider and his bumbling band of idiots took advantage of children and workers alike. Let’s also keep in mind how important it is to open this dialog and why that “respect your elders” mantra needs to be discussed and discontinued.

Now, let’s dive into why all of this is happening and how millennials and under have been silenced by the disguise of “respect”.

The Creator and His Team

Throughout the 90s and the early 2000s, the creative team behind many of Nickelodeon’s shows had a very immoral way of taking care of their young stars. There was gross neglect of the subject matter as well as physical and verbal abuse that took place behind the scenes.
