The buy-one thrillers at Barnes and Noble keep calling my name and failing me simultaneously. I question anyone who uses BookTok suggestions… WHY?

Enough digressing! Let’s get to the point of this review: The Clinic by Cate Quinn. Was it a good book? Were the characters compelling? Did the plot wrap itself up nicely?

As a whole, the book wasn’t the best I’ve read. Compared to some of my other choices this year, it wasn’t the worst. I’d say that The Clinic is a very middle-road novel with some compelling features.

Basic Plot Summary

Meg’s sister Haley is dead.

The only way to solve her sister’s murder at a very prestigious rehab is to go undercover in the rehab to discover who did it. The guest list includes other celebrities who have various vendettas against Haley.

While solving her sister’s murder, Meg must also come to terms with the fact that she’s been suffering for years. Her dependency on Oxy and avoidance is the product of an unstable childhood.
